Pink car accessories for girls are becoming increasingly popular. There is an increase in the number of females who are ‘into cars’, and this is quite a change from past years when a lot of females were not as interested in and as proud of their cars as they are now. It was almost specifically only males who spent time and money upgrading or personalising their vehicles. Times have changed. Today there are even female racing stars such as Danica Patrick and Melanie Troxel. Car accessories have followed the trend, and there is a wide range of accessories that have been designed especially for girls and because girls traditionally love pink, a lot of these accessories have been made available in pink.
When Did Pink Become Just for the Girls?
Have you ever wondered why pink is commonly considered a girls color? The history behind this is actually quite interesting. When pastel colors including pink and blue first arrived for babies in the mid 19th century, they were never promoted as being gender specific. It takes until shortly before World War I before we start seeing references to pink and blue signifying gender, but even then, pink was actually promoted as being a color for boys and blue for girls! It’s true! For example, an article from June 1918 print in the trade publication Earnshaw’s Infants’ Department read “The generally accepted rule is pink for the boys, and blue for the girls. The reason is that pink, being a more decided and stronger color, is more suitable for the boy, while blue, which is more delicate and dainty, is prettier for the girl.” The associations we make about the colors today didn’t come about until the 1940s, and this was a result of American’s preferences as interpreted by retailers and manufacturers. But I digress. (read more here When Did Girls Start Wearing Pink?)
Pink Car Accessories
Hello Kitty car accessories are extremely popular amongst girls and are very commonly associated with pink themes. For a cleaner and simpler look, popular color combinations include white and pink, and black and pink. It is also not entirely shocking to occasionally see a car which has been completely ‘pinked’ out.
The colour pink has traditionally been associated with females for a long time, so it’s not suprising that it is amongst the favourite colours of many girls. However, car accessories designed for girls differ from those designed for males in many other ways than the color alone. Girls tend to have different preferences altogether and accessories designed for girls have been created with this in mind. The good news is that any possible accessory you see or like is almost 100% guaranteed to be available in pink, so you’re in luck. Additionally, no matter what type of pink a girl likes, it’s possible to find the accessory she will love. Car accessories for girls are available in many different shades of pink including pastel pinks, hot pinks, bright pinks and summery watermelon shades of pink. There are plain pinks and also accessories that feature specific designs or logos that are pink.
